When the bag already exists in the Dragon Catalog, add it through Dragon Web instead of creating a separate manual record. Dragon Link carries the verified catalog identity back to Desktop while your private collector information remains local.

Step-by-step
Choose Add Bag → Find in Dragon Catalog
From your active Collection, choose Add Bag. When Bag Dragon asks how you want to add the bag, choose Find in Dragon Catalog — Recommended.
- ✓Use the Dragon Catalog whenever the bag already exists online.
- ✓Catalog-linked records start with a stable catalog identity and master catalog data.
- ✓Use Enter Manually only when the bag is not available in the Dragon Catalog or you intentionally need a local-only custom record.
Review the Dragon Web Gateway
The Dragon Web Gateway confirms the active collection and import destination before opening Dragon Web. Keep Inventory selected when you are adding a bag you own.
- ✓Inventory is for bags you own. Wishlist is for bags you want but do not currently own.
- ✓The Gateway shows catalog coverage and duplicate-protection readiness.
- ✓Purchase prices, storage locations, personal notes, local photos, sale history, and collection files stay local.
Keep the Dragon Web Session Monitor open
Desktop creates a Dragon Link session and opens Dragon Web in another browser tab. Leave the Dragon Web Session monitor open while you browse and build the Dragon Cart.
- ✓The monitor waits for Dragon Web to return a completed cart.
- ✓If the browser blocks the new tab, use Open Dragon Web Cart.
- ✓The session carries duplicate-protection information without sending your private collector data.
Confirm App Import Mode is ready
In the Dragon Web tab, App Import Mode shows that the Dragon Session is connected and duplicate protection is already loaded from Desktop.
- ✓During a normal Dragon Link session, you do not need to upload the manual .bddupes backup file.
- ✓Bags already linked in your Desktop collection are blocked from being added again.
- ✓Browse Catalog is the active step at this point.
Search the Master Catalog and add the bag
Search by bag name, brand, franchise, character, SKU, UPC, or theme. When you find the correct bag, choose Add to place it in the Import Cart.
- ✓Use the image, title, brand, franchise, and character information to confirm the correct catalog record.
- ✓The Import Cart shows how many bags are selected.
- ✓Duplicate protection prevents already-owned linked bags from being selected again.
Review the Dragon Cart
Choose Review Import Cart, confirm the selected bag or bags, and review any optional import notes before sending the cart back to Desktop.
- ✓The workflow shows Dragon Session and Browse Catalog as complete.
- ✓Review Cart is the current step and Send To App becomes ready.
- ✓Optional missing fields such as year or SKU/UPC are not necessarily blockers.
Send the Dragon Cart back to Desktop
Choose Add to Local Collection. Dragon Web confirms Transfer Successful and sends the selected Dragon Cart back through the active Dragon Link session.
- ✓The Web side is finished once Transfer Successful appears.
- ✓Return to the local Bag Dragon Desktop session monitor to complete the actual import.
- ✓The cart remains connected to the active Desktop collection and destination from the session.
Complete the Dragon Import on Desktop
Desktop detects the returned cart and shows Dragon Cart Ready. Choose Complete Dragon Import to create the local catalog-linked record.
- ✓Confirm the active collection shown on the session monitor before importing.
- ✓The item count should match the Dragon Cart you just sent from the Web.
- ✓This is the final Desktop confirmation before the local record is created.
Verify Catalog Import Complete
Bag Dragon shows the final import result, including how many records were added, skipped, or failed. The imported bag now exists as a catalog-linked record in the active collection.
- ✓Added confirms the bag was created locally.
- ✓Skipped means a record was intentionally not added, such as a protected duplicate.
- ✓Errors should normally be zero for a successful import.
- ✓Return to Inventory afterward to add personal collector details such as condition, quantity, purchase information, storage location, notes, or personal photos.

What happens after import?
The catalog identity is already connected
The imported record already has its Dragon Catalog identity and master catalog information. This gives Bag Dragon stronger duplicate protection and cleaner Collection Integrity and Dragon Sync behavior.
Add your private collector details locally
Return to Inventory and add the personal information that belongs to your collection, such as quantity, condition, purchase information, storage location, notes, or personal photos.
